Meet the California Walnut Open Bedside: an affordable mango wood nightstand with a rich California walnut finish. It features drawer storage, an open shelf for quick-grab items, soft, curved lines and brass-tone accents. A good bedside table should be useful at 11 pm and look good at 11 am, and this one is built to do both. If you are shopping for a solid wood nightstand or a nightstand with drawer, it is worth a closer look.
Material and build
This piece is built from 100% solid mango wood rather than veneer or particleboard. Mango is a dense hardwood known for strength and a lively grain, and the natural variations in colour and markings are part of its character. Brass-tone accents add a subtle touch of warmth and polish to the overall design. Pieces in this collection are handcrafted, so small differences in finish and detail are normal and part of the charm. Drawer storage keeps small items out of sight so the top stays clear for a lamp or decor. The open shelf is handy for books, baskets or anything you want within easy reach.
Durability and care
Solid wood is sturdy by nature and can be maintained or refinished over time, which is why it tends to outlast board-based furniture. It is designed for indoor use. Wipe the surface with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away.
Where it fits in your home
In a guest room it gives visitors a place for a glass of water and a phone without crowding the space. Use a pair on either side of the bed for a balanced, symmetrical look in a main bedroom. In the bedroom it sits comfortably beside a single, double or queen-size bed, so you can reach a lamp or a book without getting up. At 18 in wide and 20 in tall, it is a sensible size for most standard rooms.
Styles it pairs with
Organic modern, mid-century modern and minimalist interiors all suit it well. Its soft shapes balance straight-edged sofas and beds and work well in a mix of shapes.
